Maija and Jeff are dear dear friends of mine. I was very touched when Maija asked me to do their engagement photos at the central library in downtown L.A. The theme of their wedding this spring is “Books” because they are both (and this is said with all the love in the world) big nerds (and they would be the first to tell you that!)! The library is an absolutely amazing place to take photos – huge inside with high ceilings (and surprisingly a lot of light), with a beautiful plaza outside.
Maija got herself a gorgeous new dress and Jeff a new pair of pants (a big deal if you know Jeff, because this Wisconsin native is nearly ALWAYS in shorts, because it’s California and according to him it never gets cold enough in California to justify long pants), and we hit the library on a Saturday morning. They are a very playful couple, but Maija had Jeff on his best behavior so they could get some nice photos for their “save the date” cards. As you can see, they did very well, although Jeff can only play the straight man for so long ;)
I did absolutely love capturing these photos for them – the laughter, the closeness, the love between them. They are made for each other and it shows.
