Welcome Eve – {Pasadena Newborn Photography}

I met beautiful baby Eve and her wonderful family last fall. Her big brother Edwin was just the sweetest guy, with the biggest smile and best giggle Eve wasn’t really feelings like sleeping and much preferred cuddles from mom, but we did manage to get some beautiful photos of this gorgeous baby girl. I just love her dark hair, big dark eyes and perfect little lips!

Oh my, I love this session. Not only is little Layla amazingly adorable, but the family photos just melt me.

Her mama, Haley, actually teared up when I was photographing her with her daughter. I had asked her to just hold Layla and look at her, and as she gazed at her baby and talked to her, she was overwhelmed with love for this brand new little person in her arms. It made me a little teary too, since at the time I was just about four and a half months pregnant with our second daughter and was imagining myself holding a baby girl soon

I love when a family can forget that there is a camera pointed at them and just enjoy each other and savor the moment. Jayson and Haley were amazing together as they held their baby girl, and I really feel like we were able to capture the joy, wonder and love they have for each other.

… the reason for my long radio silence the past few months!

Between being hugely pregnant, wrapping up end of the year sessions, managing a household, chasing after a four year old and preparing for a new baby, I’m afraid my blog posting fell a bit behind! But I would say it was worth it!

We are thrilled to welcome another perfect little girl into our family. We all adore her, and she is just the yummiest

p.s. Her name is pronounced “SEER-sha”; it is Irish Gaelic and means ‘freedom’.

Lucy Jane arrived on Labor Day and is just the sweetest little thing. A teeny little girl, too, less than six pounds! My favorite is the black and white one with the little smile and the crazy hair that wouldn’t lay down Her mama, Kristin, is a good friend of our family (and my daughter’s swim teacher), so I look forward to watching Lucy Jane grow up!

Oh baby Kai. What a sweet little guy And so adored by his mom and dad. I *love* the family photos from this session, especially the last one of Kai and his dad. Kai wasn’t interested so much in sleeping without being held, but I did manage to get a few snuggly ones of his perfect little self!

Sweet Mikaela. What a great sleeper she was, and how calm. I could snap away to my heart’s content and she was happily snoozing or gazing at me. I love the photos of her with her mama. The expression on a new mom’s face as she looks at her baby is something that is absolutely priceless. I love capturing those first moments of a family discovering their connectedness and love for each other.

This was such a great session. The whole family was so warm and welcoming. Baby Gunner has two very proud parents as well as the proudest big sister I’ve ever met. Presley stayed by my side the whole time I was photographing her little brother and was eager to help in any way she could. The warmth in her eyes when she looked at him was so amazing. I’m so glad I was able to capture the love and tenderness this family has for each other.

How in the WORLD did I miss blogging this amazing session? One of my very favorites I have ever done. Baby Vivienne slept like a dream almost the whole time, except for about five minutes where I got a peek at her beautiful blue eyes and she calmly gazed at me before drifting back off. Big brother Thomas was just the sweetest guy, and loved it when I messed up the words to the “ABC’s” (“A B C D E F banana H I J K L M N O hippo”). He was very gentle and sweet with his baby sister.

Welcome Baby Luke! – {Glendale Newborn Photographer}

Baby Luke was such a sweetie. One of the calmest, most content babies I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He was nearly a month old at the time of our session, which is a bit older than my usual “newborn” client, but he did great.

Luke’s mama also had some wonderful things she asked me to include in the photos, including her wedding sari, a beautiful blue blanket that had been knit by a family member, as well as her and her husband’s wedding rings and a bracelet that had belonged to her grandmother. I am always happy to include things that are meaningful to the family, and they all photographed beautifully!

I love going into a new client’s home for the first time and discovering something beautiful and unique! Laura and Jon have this AWESOME window in their living room that made the perfect frame for some family photos with their beautiful baby girl, Isabella. Isabella is a beautiful, sweet baby girl and I was so honored to take some photos of her when she was so new.
