Luana and Alex – {Los Angeles Couples Photographer}

I met Luana through the Operation:Love Reunited program last summer and was thrilled to get to meet her husband Alex when he came home from deployment in the fall. We met on my favorite beach at sunset and had an amazing time. These two are so in love and so much fun together. They were so comfortable and natural with each other, and lucky for me I got to capture it And of course they brought their beloved dog, Ally. Welcome home Alex!

Welcome Home, Ricardo! – {Operation: Love Reunited}

I love Operation:Love Reunited. It is such an amazing organization, and I have met the most wonderful people through it. I did a session with Patty and Sofia when Ricardo was deployed overseas. Unfortunately I wasn’t available to capture his homecoming, like I did with this family. So I offered their family a session a couple of months later to celebrate being together again. It was wonderful to meet Ricardo, to get to thank him for his service, and to see Patty and Sofia again.

I think it is plain to see how happy this family is to be reunited, and how very much they love each other.

Daddy is Home! – {Operation: Love Reunited}

I met Amanda and Charlotte in April when I did a session for them through the Operation:Love Reunited program. Charlotte’s dad came home in June and I was thrilled to get to do a “homecoming” session with the whole family.

Luana and Ally – {Operation: Love Reunited}

I met lovely Luana and her beloved pug, Ally, at a park near my home to get some shots to send to her husband, Alex, who was deployed overseas. Luana and Alex ADORE their doggie friend, so it was very important to include Ally in the photos I grew up with pugs, so I was happy to oblige!

I recently saw Luana and Ally again, and happily Alex was with them! I will be blogging their “homecoming” session sometime in the near future.

Desiree and Robert – {Operation: Love Reunited}

I met Desiree and Robert through the Operation:Love Reunited program. Our first attempt to meet at the beach at sunset on a Friday evening was quashed by thick fog and horrific traffic, but luckily we were able to reschedule for a couple days later at a park near my home. Robert was home on leave, and it was great to see these two sweethearts together.

Thank you for your service, Robert! Come home soon!

Amanda and Charlotte – {Operation:Love Reunited}

I met Amanda and her daughter Charlotte through the Operation:Love Reunited program. I met them on an overcast April morning a a park near my house and was thrilled to find that it was full of wild flowers!

Charlotte is ADORABLE and I was so happy to capture some photos to send to her dad, who is deployed. Hopefully the pictures will help him feel a little closer to home.

Tammy, Taj, Cennedy & Carys – {Operation:Love Reunited}

I met this beautiful mom and her kids through Operation:Love Reunited. Their husband and dad had been deployed overseas on and off for nearly two years, and they wanted to send him some photos in time for Christmas. Tammy and her daughters wore some beautiful scarves that Corey had sent them from Afghanistan.

It was wonderful to see them together, to see how much love and pride Tammy has when she looks at her children. They were so looking forward to having Corey home soon.

Patty and Sophia – {Operation:Love Reunited}

I met Patty and her beautiful little girl, Sophia in one of my favorite spots for an OpLove session. Patty’s husband was deployed and she wanted to send him beautiful photos to make the distance seem a bit smaller.

Mama and daughter looked so beautiful together in their white dresses. They both have the loveliest smiles, and Sophia was happy to give her mom lots of hugs

Carlos, JoAnn, Zoila and Carlos – {Operation: Love Reunited}

I was honored to do a session for the Operation:Love Reunited program with Carlos and JoAnn and their two beautiful kids, Zoila and Carlos. We met at one of my favorite parks on a lovely fall afternoon. They are a wonderful, loving family and Zoila and Carlos are awesome kids who adore their daddy. Carlos deployed shortly after this session and will be away from home for several months.

Welcome Home, Josh! – {Operation: Love Reunited}

A few weeks ago I had the honor of being at the homecoming of Josh, the daddy of Keegan and Killian, who I photographed with their mom, Lauren, last spring. Josh had been deployed overseas for months and months. To say that they were excited to see him is an understatement.

It was very exciting, and intense, do be there for the homecoming. All the families from Josh’s squadron were there, waiting for their husbands, dads, sons and brothers. We waited in a hangar on the base until the word came that the planes were coming in. We all came out onto the airstrip and watched the planes fly over the hangar, everyone was waving American flags and yelling, Lauren was pointing up to the planes, telling Keegan and Killian that daddy was in one of them.

The planes landed and lined up, and everyone waited (not so patiently this time!) until the propellers turned off. Then those plane doors opened, the soldiers started to come out, and then all the kids and wives ran to meet them. Josh scooped Keegan up in his arms and held on tight, with the biggest smile on his face. It was so wonderful to see this beautiful family reunited at last.

While we were taking some photos next to one of the planes, out of nowhere, three year old Keegan put his hand on his Josh’s face and just stared at him, as if in disbelief that his daddy was really there. I will never forget this moment for as long as I live.
